Bringing together a mixture of players of varying skills & ability in a fun, non-checking way.

 

Flames play in the Southern Ice Hockey League. Teams travel from Tekapo, Dunedin, Queenstown, Gore and Alexandra (Central Otago) to meet up and participate in weekend Tournaments.

Ice hockey is a fast paced, exciting game for people of all ages and for both males and females. The club welcomes new players of any age and skill level (though some skating skills are beneficial). There is gear available for hire to  players at a cost of $60.00.

Anyone is welcome to come along and give ice hockey a go.

July School Holiday Activities Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

During the July school holidays, an Activities Programme is held where children can learn figure skating, hockey and curling skills. This is an ideal way to introduce your children to ice sports and is especially popular with grandparents who have grandchildren visiting for the holidays.

Hour-long session are run on the Tuesday and Thursday of both weeks, for the skating  skills and cost $25 per session. This covers the cost of admission, skate hire and tuition.

Curling skills are taught on Monday and Wednesday morning of each week, also at a cost of $25 per session.  Contact the rink for more details.

U15 Ice Hockey Tournament Saturday 22nd June

This event is FREE to watch and is a great spectator sport, especially the older grades. Players come from Dunedin, Queenstown, Gore,  Tekapo and of course Alexandra. If you wish to join the Ice Hockey Club, their practice nights are Monday and Wednesday nights from 6pm – 9:30pm. Come along and make yourself known.
